OBJECTS

Caring for and protecting cultural objects from age, damage, and environmental change supports their long-term preservation and the knowledge they carry for future generations.

We combine expertise in organic and inorganic materials with hands-on conservation treatment to assess, stabilise, and care for a wide range of cultural objects. Our work also supports the development of long-term strategies for object care, preventive conservation, and collection preservation.

We recognise there is more to each object than what we see. By working alongside you, we take the time to understand the stories, cultural significance, and context of each piece - ensuring all conservation work is carried out in an ethical, culturally appropriate, and considered way.

We work across a wide range of materials and object types, including:

  • Ceramics and stoneware

  • Decorative wooden objects

  • Metals

  • Plastics and modern materials

  • Textiles and fibre-based materials

  • Composite materials (multi-material objects)

  • Indoor sculpture

  • Honour boards and commemorative objects

  • Natural science specimens

  • Archaeological materials

  • Waterlogged and degraded organic materials

  • Archives and paper-based materials
